Genres span all three media, so one pick cuts films, anime and books at once. OR matches any of your picks, AND demands all of them.
MatchDecade, single year and span are three separate filters, and all of them apply at once. The oldest work here predates the decade list by some millennia.
Far more specific than genre, and carried by the films and anime alone: the books site tags no themes, so any theme pick excludes every book. Search narrows the list.
MatchEvery filter you set has to hold at once, so each addition tightens the net. Drop the most specific of them, widen the medium, or switch a filter with several picks in it from AND to OR.
